Tumornecrosisfactorreceptorsuperfamily,member4(TNFRSF4),alsoknownasCD134andOX40,isamemberoftheTNFR-superfamilyofreceptors.OX40isasecondaryco-stimulatoryimmunecheckpointmolecule,expressedafter24to72hoursfollowingactivation.ThisreceptorhasbeenshowntoactivateNF-kappaBthroughitsinteractionwithadaptorproteinsTRAF2andTRAF5.Itsligand,OX40L,bindstoOX40receptorsonT-cells,preventingthemfromdyingandsubsequentlyincreasingcytokineproduction.OX40hasacriticalroleinthemaintenanceofanimmuneresponsebeyondthefirstfewdaysandonwardstoamemoryresponseduetoitsABIlitytoenhancesurvival.
