Background:
Membrane-associated arginine methyltransferase that can both catalyze the formation of omega-N monomethylarginine (MMA) and asymmetrical dimethylarginine (aDMA). Able to mono- and dimethylate EWS protein; however its precise role toward EWS remains unclear as it still interacts with fully methylated EWS.

Human PRMT8 (protein arginine methyltransferase 8), GenBank Accession No. NM_019854, a.a. 61-394(end) with N-terminal His-FLAG-tag, MW=40.8 kDa, expressed in Sf9 cells using a Baculovirus expression system.

Assay Conditions:
50 µl reaction mix (20 mM phosphate buffer pH 7.4, 20 µM S-adenosyl methionine, and 1-5 ng methyltransferase PRMT8) added to the wells coated with the substrate. Incubate at RT for 1 hr. Then, add secondary HRP-labeled antibody and incubate 30 min. Finally,add HRP chemiluminescent substrates and read luminesence.
Formulation:
40 mM Tris-HCl, pH 8.0, 110 mM NaCl, 2.2 mM KCl, 80 µg/ml FLAG peptide, 3 mM DTT, 20% glycerol.
