Background:
Since caspase-14 also recognizes this WEHD substrate, this inhibitor may also show inhibition of caspase-14 activity.
Description:
A cell permeable, synthetic peptide that irreversibly inhibits certain caspases. It is selective for caspase-5, but also shows some inhibition of caspase-1 and cathepsin B (IC50 = 6 µM).
Biological Activity:
We recommend using 2-10 µM for inhibiting caspase activity in cell culture. The optimal dose may vary for different cells and culture conditions.

Soluble in DMSO
Storage / Stability:
Store at or below +4°C. Solid form is stable at least 12 months from date of receipt, when stored as directed.

The inhibitor is designed as a methyl ester to facilitate cell permeability. If the intended use is on purified or recombinant enzymes, esterase should be added to generate free carboxyl groups.
